Cultural Tourism Promotion: "China-Greece Civilizations Dialogue – Jiangsu Culture Exchange Season Kicks Off in Athens"

On the evening of June 23 (local time), the "Encounter Across Time and Space" China-Greece Civilizations Dialogue & Jiangsu Culture Exchange Season, along with the launch ceremony of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation's "Yangtze Theatre," was held at the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, Greece. Key officials including Xin Changxing, Jiangsu Party Secretary, and Fang Qiu, Chinese Ambassador to Greece, attended and spoke.

The "Yangtze Theatre" officially began broadcasting, showcasing high-quality Chinese audiovisual content on Greece's national broadcaster's streaming platform, allowing Greek audiences to experience Chinese culture. Ge Lai, Director of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, and Dimitrios Kouretas, Governor of Thessaly Region, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deepen collaboration in audiovisual content creation and cultural tourism promotion. The documentary co-produced by teams from Jiangsu, Greece and the UK, When Socrates Meets Confucius, was also announced at the event. It features a "timeless dialogue" between the two great philosophers, highlighting the shared wisdom of both civilizations to global audiences.

At the event, Chinese and Greece artists jointly performed Chant of Time and Space, creatively blending Kunqu Opera's The Peony Pavilion – Wandering in the Garden with the ancient Greek myth opera Prometheus, showcasing the beauty of cultural dialogue and earning widespread praise. During the exchange season, activities such as Jiangsu Intangible Cultural Heritage salons and pop-up Chant of Time and Space opera performances will continue across Greece.
