Jiangnan Culture and Arts·International Tourism Festival

Suzhou is like a book that you can never finish. For more than two thousand years, it has been writing new chapters.

The first Suzhou Jiangnan Culture and Arts·International Tourism Festival will be held on August 24th and last for more than a month. It is going to present the latest and best artistic achievements and tourism products in the Jiangnan region to provide the citizens with a fusion of culture and tourism and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The opening ceremony is themed with “Playing a Brilliant chapter, Singing a New Era – Classic Movie Music Concert Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.”

22 stages of art boutiques in Jiangnan such as Su Opera, Peking Opera, Yue Opera, Opera, and Drama.

The Magical Craftsmanship of Suzhou Movie Viewing Event

It will carry out various of communication and experience activities in order to deepen people’s understanding of the richness of “Craftsmanship of Suzhou”, and  the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage and the power of innovation.

“100-Year Pastel, Glory China” Pastel Art Exhibition

In order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the entry of the pastel art into China, famous Chinese and foreign artists will hold an exhibition of pastel art works.

In addition, there are selected performances of the Suzhou Youth Theatre Festival and the “Poetry Grand Canal” national oil painting exhibition.

The three thematic day activities will be organized in early, mid and late September, namely the Grand Canal Theme Day, the Suzhou Craftsmanship Theme Day and the Belt and Road & Suzhou Silk Theme Day.
