Nanjing Eye is situated in the central axis of the Youth Olympics in Hexi New Town, Jianye District, Nanjing. It is the first sightseeing pedestrian bridge on the Yangtze River, which crosses the Nanjing Yangtze River and Jiajiang. It extends from the Hexi Youth Culture and Sports Park to the Jiangxinzhou Youth Forest Park. The wing-like cable-stayed steel wire flaps its wings upward like the strings of a harp. The pedestrians walk through it like notes jumping on the strings. This place is both a new landmark and a new attraction of Nanjing.
The optimum time to go to the Nanjing Eye Pedestrian Bridge must be after dusk, one can enjoy the sunset and wait for sightseeing the lights (6:00-9:00).Nanjing Eye has a strong sense of design. Both the large and small circles (two in total) can project changeable light and shadow on the front. Sometimes it shows the flowing water waves or flying maple leaves, and no light and shadow on the back.
